What’s on your list?

While our family loves to relax on the beach, we’re also quite active and enjoy exploring Michigan’s trails, U-pick farms, and wineries. We hope you have a chance to check out a few of these favorites!

Hiking and biking

  • Casco Country Nature Preserve

    Just a couple miles north of Driftwood Shores you can find Shel Silverstein’s Where the Sidewalk Ends. Casco Township Nature Preserve includes a beautiful view of Lake Michigan with a quarter mile paved path.

  • Pilgrim Haven Nature Preserve

    Just south of the city of South Haven is Pilgrim Haven, a beautiful place to walk some easy trails, hunt for Lake Michigan rocks, and get some amazing pictures! There is a paved path that leads to the lake, plus many dirt trails with a pretty bridge and an outdoor fireplace!

  • Kal-Haven Trail

    A 33-mile trail that connects Kalamazoo and South Haven, the Kal-Haven Trail is a great place to walk, bike, cross country ski, or snowmobile! Just a few miles in, you’ll find one of very few remaining covered bridges.

  • Rock n' Road

    Rock n’ Road is a great place to rent bikes if you need more than the four we offer. They have fantastic deals on bikes for all ages.

  • KJC ATV Rentals

    For the more adventurous guests, we recommend renting an ATV and riding the many trails offered at KJC ATV Rentals!

  • Van Buren Trail State Park

    A 14-mile trail connecting South Haven to Hartford, Van Buren Trail State Park is another great option for an adventure. Conquer it all, or just take a short walk or bike ride before turning around.

Water activities

  • Lake Arvesta Sports Complex

    Two aqua parks, 12 pickleball courts, boat watersports, and a large beach with volleyball and assorted games! Check out their website.

  • Michigan Maritime Museum

    From hands-on museum exhibits to boat rides on the Friends Good Will, the Michigan Maritime Museum offers something for everyone. It’s a great chance to explore our Great Lakes!

  • South Haven Fishing Charters

    Whether you’re looking for a sporting adventure, relaxation, or just a good time fishing, South Haven Fishing Charters offers a wide range of packages to fit everyone’s needs.

  • South Beach Splashpad

    Enjoy South Haven’s newest addition… a fun splash pad on South Beach! Take the little kids to splash and play!

Wineries, fruit, and treats

  • 12 Corners Tasting Room

    12 Corners Vineyards was started by a small group of friends who grew up in Michigan and recognized the uniqueness of a site just four miles off Michigan’s famed “Gold Coast.” Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Chardonnay and Traminette are but a sampling of the varieties they offer.

  • South Haven Farmers Market

    South Haven offers a Farmer’s Market with the freshest fruits, vegetables, bakery goods and crafts! Located downtown, under the ice skating pavillion, check their website for dates of operation at South Haven Farmer’s Market.

  • DeGrandchamp Farms

    Shop DeGrandchamp Farms‘ market to enjoy delicious blueberry and cranberry products including preserves, butters, sauces, mustards, vinaigrettes, and more. In July and August you’ll also find fresh fudge and baked goods.

  • Cogdal Vineyard

    Cogdal Vineyard produces signature wines from both estate-grown and selectively-soured grapes. They also offer Little Man Wines, a collection of fun and eclectic wines that they describe as “bold and audacious.”

  • Warner Winery Tasting Room

    Located in downtown South Haven along the Black River and among the Old Harbour Village shops, Warner Winery offers more than 25 wines.

  • Ridley Family Sugar Farm

    A family farm offering pure, natural maple and fruit syrups, Ridley Family Sugar Farm is a fun stop for rainy days. Good luck leaving without a few new tasty souvenirs!

  • Fieldsview Farm

    Here is your chance to fill your life with beauty! Head to Fieldsview Farm for their U-Pick flower experience. For only $20, you can fill a pitcher as full as you’d like with all their seasonal flowers! Check out their website for dates.

  • Bumbleberry Acres

    Offering corn mazes, a pumpkin patch, a haunted house, and a farmers market, Bumbleberry Acres is a perfect place for fall family fun!

  • Michigan Theatre

    A small, three-screen theater, the Michigan Theatre offers unbeatable rates on new movies. Before 6 pm, tickets are $4, and after 6 pm, they’re $5.50.

  • South Beach Ice Rink

    A great winter activity! South Haven Ice Rink is an open air rink right down town! Skate rental is available. Keep an eye on their Facebook page to see if there will be ice during your winter vacation.

  • Rocket Arcade

    Rocket Arcade offers retro arcade games, pinballs, and other amusements for kids—or all ages! You can also snack on popcorn, candy, and much more.

  • Kids Corner

    Kids Corner is a fantastic park complete with a wooden play structure, a maze, boat, and more. The park is ADA accessible and has grills, a picnic area, play equipment, restrooms, a shelter, and a sports field.

  • Overhiser Farms

    If you’re looking for apple picking and pumpkins, check out Overhiser Farms! It’s the perfect place to pick up fall fruit and get some great pictures!

Shopping and special occasions

  • 42N Naturals

    Everything in this cute little apothecary is handmade right here in South Haven! Soaps, body butters, lip scrubs, even a bar where you can create your own terrarium! You don’t want to leave town without stopping in to 42 N Naturals.
